The Wife Between Us - Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen

  • Overall Mom Rating: 10/10
  • Genre: Psychological Thriller
  • Review: A controlling husband or a neurotic wife...this book leaves you guessing what is going on until the end.
  • Final Thoughts: Must read if you like lots of plot twists. You won’t want to put it down!

The Girl Before - J.P. Delaney

  • Overall Mom Rating: 9/10
  • Genre: Psychological Thriller
  • Review: A quick read involving crime, sex, and creepy characters. The book switches between two characters' lives who live in a house at different times. Creepy things happen here and make you question why anyone would choose to live there.
  • Final Thoughts: This one will keep you on your toes until the very end.

An Anonymous Girl - Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen

  • Overall Mom Rating: 9/10
  • Genre: Psychological Thriller
  • Review: A young woman quickly becomes the object of obsession of a psychologist. The unraveling of the storyline is well done and the main character is likable and becomes more than a victim.
  • Final Thoughts: A quick read that will leave you glancing over your shoulder.

Every Breath - Nicholas Sparks

  • Overall Mom Rating: 6/10
  • Genre: Love Story
  • Review: I’m not a huge Nicholas Sparks fan outside of the Notebook but I had to read this one because the setting for the story is Sunset Beach, NC and I grew up vacationing there every year from birth until college. The writing is typical Sparks style and easy to read but the story is a little predictable and far-fetched at the same time.
  • Final Thoughts: Toss it in your beach bag for a light-hearted read.

The Best of Friends- Lucinda Berry

  • Overall Mom Rating: 6/10
  • Genre: Mystery/Suspense
  • Review: I think this is overall a "good" book, but hard to read as a mom. There are a lot of difficult themes and sad story lines and there isn't really an upside at the end? It centers around a group of best friends whose sons are part of a tragic gun incident. It did keep me guessing at the whodunit while I was reading, but needed breaks while reading.
  • Final Thoughts: Only read if you're looking for something sad.

The Next Wife- Kaira Rouda

  • Overall Mom Rating: 7.5/10
  • Genre: Mystery/Suspense
  • Review: This was a fun, easy read about the death of a start up founder and his ex and current wife. Lifetime movie-esque for sure! The characters were entertaining and I was definitely invested in the mystery. I liked the ending and felt like the clues to the mystery made sense at the end, which is always a win!
  • Final Thoughts: Perfect book for a vacation!

The Secrets of Us- Lucinda Berry

  • Overall Mom Rating: 9/10
  • Genre: Mystery/Suspense
  • Review: I loved this one! This page-turner dives into the current and past lives of two foster "sisters" when one of them is admitted to a psych facility for attempting to murder her husband. Really interesting psychology themes and it's a WILD ride!
  • Final Thoughts: A great read, you'll get super attached to the characters!
